Stop! The 17th edition of Tapirulan Illustrators Contest starts...

“Don’t stop me now”, sang Freddie Mercury at the top of his lungs, “Cause I’m having a good time”. However, what we are asking you is just that, to stop for a bit and read these few lines.
You’ll say that you’ve had enough of stopping during these baleful times: we stopped going out, stopped seeing friends and family, a stop was put on concerts and shows, and maybe now some police officer will say “stop” to you as you are looking at your phone while driving…

Still, stopping is not always harmful; sometimes it can save us from dangerous situations, or it can make us grow and ponder, because, as the poet Guillaume Apollinaire said, “Now and then it’s good to pause in our pursuit of happiness and just be happy”.

And it’s with happiness in our hearts that we announce, after long reflection, that the 17th edition of our annual illustration contest is now open, and the theme is “Stop”; but the true “stop” will come on the 25th of October, the deadline to fill the online form and submit your own work. The illustration must be square, as always.
So stop, everybody, and get yourselves the necessary equipment, read the rules carefully and start drawing! The better “Stop” will win the first prize, assigned by the jury, consisting of 2,500 euros, and the following year the winner will be the protagonist of their own solo exhibition in Tapirulan’s art gallery. Moreover, the May 2022 exhibition in Cremona will host the works of 48 selected artists, 12 of whom will be published on a calendar; one of them will also win the Popular Prize, worth 500 euros.
