Description
A person stands atop a delicate hibiscus flower, ready to leap. The flower, fragile and full of aphids, symbolizes the obstacles faced along the journey to reach the top, accompanied by resilient ladybugs. Together, they overcome these challenges, not seeking solid ground, power, or wealth, but rather the wind and open air to carry them forward. At the highest point, the ladybugs spread their wings, using the buoyancy of air to fly farther. Their path, made of delicate stalks, grass, and obstructing aphids, represents the transient yet meaningful foundation that propels them. Their flight, carried by the breeze, symbolizes the rhythm of their lives and the start of a new season.
My art journey, spanning design and illustration, has taken on new meaning after a cultural transition from Hong Kong to Italy and an eight-year parental break. This submission marks my return to creativity and reflects themes of resilience, lightness, and the beauty in small moments.
