Island Utopia

To me, utopias and dystopias are inseparable. Often in literature and other media on the subject, there is some element of society that must be sacrificed in order to achieve someone’s version of an ideal. Utopias rarely benefit everyone, and dystopias benefit a select few. True utopias are so elusive that they exist purely in the mind of an individual, which lead me to the imagery of the skull as a foundation for life to grow. No matter how one views the idea of utopia, the old ways must die in order for a new world to be born.
