Flop Off the Edge
Opera di Isabelle Chapman

Description
My acrylic depiction of “The Fool” portrays a man who ignores past mistakes and, with his eyes fixed on the sky above rather than the path in front of him, walks toward his doom. On a path already well worn, he steps off a cliff and, quite literally falls to his end. Based on the concepts of tarot cards and predetermined fate, my work questions whether we truly have any autonomy in what we say or do, or whether everything has already been decided for us. When the moment comes, do we rise or do we flop?
