Cheating Death

This work was inspired by a West African legend about two twins, a boy and a girl, who cheat Death. I have always been fascinated by masks and most of my illustrations are centered around them and the personages they convey: more expressive than any human face and, in this specific case, combining malevolence and sinister trickery, I think it perfectly serves at showing some power out of this world, some giant force that laughs at our face no matter our odds.
