After the Flop
Opera di ione Larrañaga Gorritxo
Technique:
Digitally drawn and coloured in Photoshop
Description
A paper boat appears sunken. Its own fragility turns it into a structure destined to collapse: an object created to float that, inevitably, gives way.
The flop is not presented as an ending, but as part of a process. From the remains of the boat, plants grow and bloom, while fish inhabit the space it once occupied. Failure thus becomes a fertile territory, where collapse does not cancel life but displaces and reorganises it.
The image proposes a reading of flop as a persistent and fragile process, close to the cyclical, in which what fails allows new forms and dynamics to emerge.
