Le Charlatan

To address this year’s theme, I chose to focus on the element of surprise implied by the expression “voilà,” which can be translated as “Tada!” Following this idea, I drew inspiration from the image of the magician performing a magic trick, a perfect representation of surprise in my eyes. I was inspired by vintage 20th-century magician posters, using the familiar image of the magician pulling a rabbit out of a hat. However, to heighten the element of surprise, I intentionally altered the traditional depiction of the rabbit, transforming it into an undefined, almost mythical creature, thus amplifying the sense of the unexpected and the strange.
