The Child vs. The City

As a children’s book writer and illustrator, I wanted to interpret the theme “Tilt” through a child’s eyes. In this illustration every little detail tells you the story of the child vs. the city. The city tilts and bends as if it wants to engulf the child and child resists and stands strong. This is a metaphorical image showcasing how in our crowded and busy lives we are fighting to keep a childlike imagination and hopefulness alive. How our view and enjoyment of life is tilted and distorted through the demands of a high pressure city life.
