Voila

My illustration depicts two boys holding hands in a gesture that says, “Look.” This is how I interpret the theme “voila.” They are showing us what we have done to the world. Symbolic figures appear throughout the scene, such as a monkey wearing a hat with a cigarette, the silhouettes of naked women trapped in confinement, a policeman looking the other way, a dragon trying to breathe fire but held back by civilization, and a cowboy on a horse, reading peacefully on the sidelines as a hermit, staying away from the chaos.
