Life is a buffet…and most poor sucker are starving to death!’ is a quote from the 1958 film ‘Auntie Mame’ starring Rosalind Russell. I wanted my artwork to be thought provoking and so have created a concept that highlights the issue of greed & poverty in todays society. ‘The Fat Man’ greedily consumes large resources of food whilst the countless starving wait behind, shackled through circumstance. My piece brings to light the tragic extremes between obesity through choice by the developed world and the starving of the third world.
