An Unknown Monster

This work originally comes from a zine ‘Grandma’s Milky Tea’, which I worked with a Japanese children’s literature author, Aiko Umeno. This is a story about her late grandma who experienced illness, war, and toughness in her life. I was experiencing lockdown in pandemic when working with her remotely, I deeply felt the helpless and loneliness as if her grandma was facing at her age. This monster doesn’t represent the virus, but the fear and innocence in our mind which we are trying to ‘Stop’ and ‘Face’ all along.
