Descrizione
When orcas are kept in captivity, the stress of confinement causes their dorsal fins to flop over to one side, becoming a visible imprint of restriction. This piece exists in a surreal, dreamlike space that mirrors that condition back to us, reflecting how we have grown comfortable within four walls, glorifying enclosure and routine while confining animals for our own entertainment. In repetition, we dissociate, our minds drifting while our bodies adapt, and something within us slowly softens and falls. The flopped fin becomes both symbol and symptom, a failure in the protection of wildlife and a physical reflection of their unwilling surrender to confinement.
