Le belle del quartiere

When I was in high school, I started learning Italian. My friend Míša and I were super excited about it, and after school, we would wander around the neighborhood among the concrete blocks, shouting Italian words we learned that day. Chiavi! Scala! Telefono! Lavandino! Tende! That day, we must have been covering the topic of House… Occasionally, we’d throw in a loud Ciao! if some boys passed by, giggling dramatically, honestly believing we were the coolest. We were one big FLOP, but thankfully, we didn’t realize it at the time. A shoutout to this memory goes to my friend Simona N. from Bologna, who brought it back to me like a thread of wool.
