We Found It!

In this piece, the theme Voilà brings to mind a longing for true happiness. Happiness that has been missing in most of our adult lives. Especially as creatives, it is easy to become lost in the bustle and race of the art industry. We tend to lose the spirit of play and fun that we once had, and this is something I hope we can slowly go back to when we create art. As a callback to classic stories like Peter Rabbit, I chose the innocent bunny to represent our inner-child, searching for that feeling of wonder we once had as we explored and grew our talents. The warm colours evoke a sense of nostalgia and comfort; the warmth and smell of a dusty, sunlit room – a faint memory. As children, the world seemed so bright and every dark corner had hidden treasure to find. As adults, we must strive to maintain that aspect of ourselves. As artists, we must bring back the power of being a child – not afraid to ask questions, and not afraid to take risks. Only then, do we draw closer to breaking new boundaries and setting new goals. And for those of us who are still on that journey of reaching childhood, we only need to to continue seeking and Voilà! We shall one day find it.
