Franco Matticchio

Franco Matticchio is one of the best known and most appreciated illustrators and cartoonists on the Italian scene. Born in Varese in 1957, he made his debut in 1979 drawing for the culture page of the Corriere della Sera. He later collaborated with, among others, Linus, Linea d’Ombra, il Domenicale de Il Sole 24 Ore, Internazionale, Lo Straniero. For more than thirty years, Franco Matticchio has collaborated with L’indice dei libri del mese, a cultural monthly for which he has also designed the covers since 2013. He is also the author of several art books published by Nuages, Gallucci, Einaudi and Vanvere. His work has been shown in numerous exhibitions, both in Italy and abroad.
