Every year tourists’ flock to Italy to see some of the most painting famous paintings in the world. They hear “ciao” all around them. The tourists say hello to the locals, the sights, and to the paintings they have longed to see. What would the paintings say back to them? They might say “ciao”. Inspired by Simone Martini’s “Annunciation with Two Saints” my drawing has the word “ciao” emerging from the angel’s mouth as greeting to both the Virgin Mary and to the tourists at her feet.
