The Matador
Opera di Inna Gertsberg
Tecnica:
Gouache and acrylic on Ampersand Aquabord®, digital background
Descrizione
Traditionally, the matador stands as the triumphant hero, and the bull as the defeated opponent. My character playfully inverts expectations and blurs the line between victor and victim. The bull dressed in ornate matador attire suggests a role reversal that undercuts spectacle and dominance, turning anticipated triumph into quiet absurdity. The “flop” becomes not a dramatic fall, but a subtle collapse of hierarchy and ego.
