(F)PloP!

In my illustration I wanted to bring a chaotic and theatrical scenario to life at a sunny beach setup where everything all at once goes astray. For my working process, i was inspired by the rhyme of the flop and plop words, that in the end resulted the title as well. I wished to convey the clumsiness and awkwardness that correlate with the definition of
a flopped situation that can happen even with the best of us. Unexpectedly during an idyllic siesta, french fries stolen by gluttonous seagulls, a drenched favourite sun hat gifted by a loved one, falling asleep under the rays of sun resulting sunburning, a ripped bag, a slippery bikini top and an overly curious puppy etc…
Overall I intended to capture in a messy lighthearted way a series of animated moments, that essentially makes our lives colourful, to show it’s okay if your flip-flops flops in the waves of sand.
